Stoltenberg addressed Canadian officials, Generals, Ambassadors, and the public, then followed up with a 45-minute Q&A. In his speech, Stoltenberg highlighted NATO’s importance in peacekeeping as the organization celebrates its 70th anniversary and stated, “Today, transatlantic relations are still the cornerstone of European peace with NATO, the unifying institutional heart of that major part of Europe which is free and whole”. He also spoke about NATO’s current key challenges, how NATO adapts to the modern world and the most likely evolution of the Alliance looking forward.
